"Attempt to murder" FIR against Khan Sir; police launches raid to arrest him
US President Donald Trump has sparked controversy after reposting a podcast segment containing derogatory remarks about India and China while discussing birthright citizenship. The repost featured comments by a US radio host criticising immigration policies and referring to several countries in offensive terms.
The remarks were shared on Trump’s Truth Social platform, where the discussion centred around ending automatic citizenship for children born in the United States to non-citizens. The repost came shortly after Trump reiterated his stance against birthright citizenship, claiming that such provisions are being misused.
Responding to the controversy, India’s Ministry of External Affairs maintained a cautious stance. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “We have seen some reports. That’s where I leave it,” avoiding a detailed comment on the issue.
The development comes amid an ongoing legal and political debate in the US over birthright citizenship, with the matter currently under consideration in the Supreme Court. The issue continues to draw attention due to its implications for immigration policy and international perceptions.
